Writing For Freedom is dedicated to creating a world where every young woman of color can see herself authentically reflected in media. To achieve this, we offer dynamic programs that celebrate diverse voices and the power of storytelling, provide mentorship to aspiring young writers, support leadership development, and creative projects that encourage self-expression and leadership. Through our programs, we strive to equip young women with the skills and confidence to share their unique narratives with the world.

H.E.R. stands for Healing, Empowerment, and Reclamation. H.E.R. Society is a creative writing program designed to provide a safe, empowering space for young women on campus to tell their stories and develop their writing skills.
Participants perform at the annual Winter Writer's Ball (formerly known as H.E.R. Symposium). Check out our previous events!
Blerd Chronicles: Crafting Stories & Comics
with Digital Art is a dynamic new initiative that empowers participants to explore the art of storytelling through comic creation.
