At Writing For Freedom, a 501c(3) nonprofit, we believe that every young woman has a powerful story to tell. Our mission is to equip girls from marginalized communities with the tools to reclaim their narratives and amplify their voices through creative writing.

From our H.E.R. Society, where young women engage in transformative writing workshops, to our one-on-one mentorship programs that provide personal guidance from established writers, we foster a supportive and empowering environment. Our Blerd Chronicles series celebrates and amplifies the stories of young women of color who are passionate about geek culture, science fiction, fantasy, and more—creating a space where creativity and identity collide. We’re not just building better writers; we’re empowering the next generation of changemakers.
