About Blerd Chronicles
Blerd Chronicles is a unique space where young women of color come together to celebrate their passion for geek culture while exploring their creative potential. Whether it's through science fiction, fantasy, comic books, or gaming, Blerd Chronicles empowers girls to reclaim their narratives in spaces where they are often underrepresented. Our program offers a dynamic blend of writing workshops, storytelling projects, and discussions that allow participants to weave their personal experiences with their favorite genres, fostering both self-expression and community.
Through Blerd Chronicles, we encourage girls to embrace their full identity as creative thinkers, leaders, and "blerds" (Black nerds), challenging the boundaries of traditional storytelling. This platform not only uplifts diverse voices in speculative fiction but also cultivates leadership skills, critical thinking, and collaboration. By amplifying the stories of young women in geek culture, Blerd Chronicles is creating a powerful community where individuality, imagination, and empowerment thrive.
